Taking the first step towards integrating different platforms for social media users, Facebook is adding its name to Instagram and WhatsApp. According to The Information, Instagram will soon be renamed ‘Instagram from Facebook’ and WhatsApp to become ‘WhatsApp from Facebook’.
These new names from both apps will appear on both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. “We want to be clear about the products and services that are part of Facebook,” according to a spokesperson’s statement. It has been said in the report, that the app employees were informed about this change recently.
The US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is investigating why Instagram and WhatsApp were acquired by Facebook. According to The Wall Street Journal, FTC wants to find out that even before social media giant Facebook gets the challenge, it does not want to destroy its capable social media opponent.
Facebook’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg has already announced that Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp will be integrated.
