Code Verify : WhatsApp has launched browser extension to make it more secure

Code Verify : WhatsApp has launched a web browser extension to make chatting more secure. WhatsApp has named this extension as Code Verify. With this extension, you will be able to check whether you are using WhatsApp Web with the correct link or not.

Code Verify

This extension will automatically verify the authenticity of WhatsApp. This extension has been developed in partnership with Cloudflare. You will be able to download and use the Code Verify extension in Google Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers.

Code Verify

Every time a user uses WhatsApp on the web version, this extension checks whether the resource is correct or not. If there is any security threat, this extension alerts the users about it.

WhatsApp has said about this extension, ‘We have provided Cloudflare a cryptographic hash source of accuracy for the JavaScript code of WhatsApp Web. When someone uses Code Verify, the extension automatically compares the code running on WhatsApp Web to the version of the code verified by WhatsApp and published on Cloudflare, thereby verifying the authenticity.’

Code Verify

When the extension cannot verify your authenticity, it shows Network Times Out, Possible Risk Detected and Validation. Once the code is verified by the extension, it alerts the user whether the web client they are using is authenticated or not.
