Truecaller Call Recording: Recently Google said that it would stop all third-party call recording on Android phones from May 2022. Google had also clarified that if your phone has in-built call recording, you will be able to record calls but will not be able to record calls through any third-party apps like Truecaller or Call Recorder app. Google has changed its privacy policy on Play Store.

Regarding Google’s new policy, Truecaller has said that now the call recording facility will not be available in its app. Google’s new policy is being implemented from May 11; that is, after May 11, 2022, users of Truecaller will also not be able to record calls. Google is also closing access to the API from May 11. Let us tell you that apps like Truecaller use API for call recording. Truecaller has stated that call recording on Truecaller was free for all. Still, as of now, updated Google’s developer program policies, we can no longer provide a call recording facility.

Recording will be done from Google’s app

One thing to note here is that with Google’s dialer app, users will be able to record calls even after May 11, and if the phone already has this feature, you will also be able to record calls. Google’s direct aim is to remove third-party apps from call recording altogether. Simply put, now, all call recording apps will also be removed from the Google Play Store. Google says that it has taken this decision, keeping in mind the privacy and security of the users.
