Passwords leaked on dark web: Cyber experts say that due to the war between Russia-Ukraine, there may be an unexpected increase in the number of cyber attacks all over the world.
We usually use a password that is easy to remember and this is where we make the biggest mistake, because everyone uses easy-to-remember passwords, which makes the job of hackers easier. Now mobile security firm Lookout has released a list of 20 such passwords which are very common. These passwords are being used by a huge number of people all over the world. The security firm’s report states that all these apps are available on the hackers forum dark web.
On average one person manages 100 accounts
Password manager NordPas reports that a user uses passwords for 100 different online accounts. In such a situation, users prefer to use simple and easy passwords. Due to having a common password, hackers easily make people a victim and hack their device.
Many times, with the help of these passwords, hackers also break into people’s bank accounts. Cyber experts say that due to the war between Russia-Ukraine, there may be an unexpected increase in the number of cyber attacks all over the world.
US banks have expressed concern that they may be targeted soon. According to a report by a non-profit organization, there were about 1,862 cyber breaches in the US last year, which is 68% more than in 2020.
Lookout provides cloud security service for mobile devices. Lookout said in its blog that in December, an average of 80% of users’ emails were leaked on the dark web. Along with the leaked e-mail, passwords of some accounts have also been leaked.
